Pitbull Demolishes Choi In First, Calls Out Silva

Patricio Pitbull landed his first UFC knockout Saturday night, stopping Doo Ho Choi with a devastating straight right hand at 3:28 of the first round at UFC 331 in Los Angeles.

The former Bellator two-division champion froze Choi in mid-air with the punch before following him to the canvas with ground strikes, per MMA Fighting. Referee Mike Beltran waved off the featherweight bout moments later.

Pitbull moved to 2-2 inside the Octagon after losses to Yair Rodriguez and Aaron Pico sandwiched a decision win over Dan Ige. The 39-year-old Brazilian acknowledged a slow adjustment period immediately after the finish. "I'm sorry about my last three fights," he said, according to MMA Fighting. "The pressure is bigger [in the UFC] but now I'm comfortable. Jean Silva, let's see who is the dog!"

Choi entered on a three-fight knockout streak over Bill Algeo, Nate Landwehr and Daniel Santos. The Korean featherweight found brief success with combinations early, but Pitbull controlled the striking exchanges with body attacks and counters. A stiff jab set up the finishing sequence — Pitbull connected with the straight right as Choi pressed forward, dropping him clean.

Silva currently ranks higher at featherweight than Pitbull, making an immediate matchup unlikely. The knockout marked Pitbull's 38th career win and first stoppage since joining the UFC in 2025.
