Pitbull On UFC Struggles Ahead Of Choi Fight

Patricio Pitbull has not been satisfied with any of his UFC outings so far.

The former three-time Bellator featherweight champion, who joined the UFC at 37 after fighting his way out of his previous contract, told reporters he has yet to display the form that made him the winningest fighter in Bellator history. "I haven't liked any of [my UFC fights]," Pitbull said, per MMA Mania. "I don't think I've shown my potential at all in any of those fights, but I do want to bring that out in this performance."

Pitbull Faces Choi At UFC 331

The Brazilian enters his bout with Doo Ho Choi on Saturday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles holding a 1-2 record inside the Octagon. He scored his lone win against Dan Ige but dropped decisions to Yair Rodriguez and Aaron Pico, all ranked opponents. Through those three appearances, Pitbull has struggled to replicate the speed and aggression that defined nearly two decades of dominance outside the UFC.

Choi presents a different kind of test. The South Korean striker arrives on a three-fight stoppage streak and brings the aggressive style that could give Pitbull more openings than he found in his previous matchups. At 37, Pitbull is betting he can still produce the performances that once made him one of the top featherweights outside the UFC.

UFC 331 airs Saturday night from Los Angeles with the Pitbull-Choi featured fight preceding the main event.
