Dana White has outlined plans for the UFC White House event next year after a recent meeting at the White House.
The event was initially scheduled to take place on July 4, 2026. However, the card has been moved to late June, with many details being disclosed. According to reports, the event’s press conference and weigh-ins will be held on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Meanwhile, the main event will take place inside a temporary Octagon constructed on the White House lawn. Fighters will reportedly warm up inside the White House and make their walks to the cage through ceremonial routes, including a path through the Oval Office or the Rose Garden.
The card will feature fireworks and laser-light displays. To engage the broader public, the UFC will also host a variety of fan activities in the days leading up to the card, including autograph sessions and interactive events at the National Mall.
The card has already drawn interest from some of the sport’s biggest names. Both Conor McGregor and Jon Jones have expressed a desire to be featured on the card, with Jones having announced his comeback just two weeks after retiring and vacating the UFC heavyweight title. While neither has been confirmed, big names are expected to feature.
This event is a masterstroke of public relations for the UFC and its new broadcast partner, Paramount. For the UFC, it elevates the sport from its humble beginnings to a central part of the nation’s 250th-anniversary celebration.
It shows that the UFC is a mainstream, globally respected sports organization, and not just a niche fighting promotion. For Paramount, the event is a perfect showcase for their new seven-year, $7.7 billion broadcast deal with the UFC. A massive event with a guaranteed audience is a perfect way to kick off a new partnership and attract new subscribers. Fans had plenty to say about the plans.
