Potential matchups after UFC Fight Night in Seattle

UFC Fight Night in Seattle was a wild night with fights that are going to shake up multiple divisions. All six fights on the main card ended with a finish. Here are some matchups that could be made as a result.

Joe Pyfer takes on Anthony Hernandez after joining the top 10

Pyfer was able to finish former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in the second round. Pyfer and Adesanya traded massive shots throughout their two rounds together. Pyfer’s power proved to be more successful than Adesanya’s technical striking in their matchup.

Pyfer and Hernandez could be a great matchup. Pyfer will take a big jump from being ranked No. 14 to being inside the top 10. Currently ranked No. 7, Hernandez would allow Pyfer to show he belongs in the top 10.

Hernandez is coming off a TKO loss to No. 3-ranked Sean Strickland. Hernandez needs a win over a high-ranked opponent to get closer to a title shot. With Hernandez’s relentless pressure and suffocating grappling and Pyfer’s one-punch power, it would seem like a fun matchup for the fans.

Israel Adesanya takes on Caio Borralho

Adesanya, the once great middleweight champ, is now on a four-fight losing streak. He’s been finished in his last three. Adesanya needs to break the streak, and Borralho could be the right person for Adesanya.

Borralho is coming off a win over Reinier de Ridder at UFC 326. Borralho is currently ranked No. 5 in the middleweight division. Since the division is stacked at the top, Borralho only has a few options that make sense. Adesanya and Borralho are great technical strikers. This matchup could be a great chess match for the two that striking fans would love.

Alexa Grasso takes on Manon Fiorot

Grasso had a stunning knockout in her rematch with Maycee Barber. Grasso proved she’s still a major threat in the flyweight division.

Since Natalia Silva is most likely getting the title shot next, Grasso will need another fight before getting back to a title fight. No. 2-ranked Fiorot makes a ton of sense.

Both Grasso and Fiorot are vicious strikers who can finish a fight. Both are at least one fight away from a title shot and could have a stunning fight that fans would love to prove their claim for their shot.

Lerryan Douglas fights Morgan Charriere

Douglas had a phenomenal UFC debut, defeating Julian Erosa by knockout. Douglas had heavy hands, knocking Erosa down multiple times with jabs.

Charriere is a good test for Douglas. Charriere can knock out anyone, but he’s beatable. If the UFC wants to build Douglas up, Charriere would be a solid fight to make. If Douglas is the real deal, he’ll have another stellar performance against Charriere.

Tyrell Fortune proves himself against Shamil Gaziev

Fortune is a promotional newcomer who should be entering the top 10 of the heavyweight division when the rankings are updated.

Fortune was able to get the decision over No. 8-ranked vet Marcin Tybura. Fortune looked great both on the feet and in grappling. It’s not a secret that the heavyweight division is struggling, so Fortune could become a staple in the division if he continues having success.

Gaziev is a heavy hitter; he only needs one punch to end a fight. Fortune could show off more of his skills against a more dangerous puncher.
