Pros Predict Jamahal Hill Vs. Khalil Rountree Jr. – ‘He Is Super Tough’

Jamahal Hill takes on Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC Baku this weekend as MMA insiders gave their predictions.

Hill is looking to get back to big-time MMM fighting following his last two performances, which ended in defeats. He vacated his light heavyweight title following an injury, as he returned with losses against Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka. Hill was meant to face Rountree last year, only for the fight to be called off once Rountree failed a test.

Rountree has not been in the Octagon since last year when Pereira knocked him out. The loss ended his five-fight win streak. A win puts either fighter closer to a title shot against the champion Magomed Ankalaev, which could happen next if Ankalaev cannot secure the Pereira rematch. Here is how MMA insiders saw the fight playing out.

Predictions

“It’s going to be a good fight, you know, both are stand-up fighters and they like to fight in stand-up. So I think Rountree is a tough guy, you know, very, very, very tough, so maybe he can beat Jamahal,” Jan Blachowicz

“Oh, I don’t know, that’s a good fight though. I know that, uh, I’m going to go with Jamahal, man. Man, I can’t, I don’t know, I can’t pick that one, ’cause like I like them both,” Geoff Neal

“I got Rountree, dude. He obviously went through a crazy fight against Pereira, but I think he showed some growth, and I, and I know he’s going to grow from that experience, you know,” Chepe Mariscal

“I’m gonna go with Jamahal on that one, just because I think he’s got enough length that he can kind of pick and stay away. Khalil is super, super tough, uh, obviously he can take a lot of damage, but I think the difference is going to be, uh, Jamahal Hill’s reach and his ability to be in and out and use angles,” Gerald Meerschaert
