Rampage opens up about his strained relationship with son Raja following the Syko Stu incident
When it comes to pressure, few have handled it like Rampage Jackson inside the Octagon. But this latest ordeal is one that doesn’t involve fighting under bright lights or the roar of the crowd. Instead, it’s a personal battle tied to his family—specifically his son, Raja. The incident, which involved Raja’s brutal attack on wrestler Syko Stu, has left Rampage navigating disappointment, frustration, and a very public discussion about fatherhood.
In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani Shared By ACD MMA, Rampage admitted that he has not been in contact with Raja following the incident that sparked controversy.
Helwani didn’t shy away from pressing him, explaining that he couldn’t imagine cutting his own son off, no matter the circumstances. ‘If you’re worried for his wellbeing, why are you not talking to him?’ Helwani asked. Rampage responded bluntly: ‘He dishonored my name. I’m not cutting him off forever, I just haven’t talked to him.’

“If you’re worried for his wellbeing, why are you not talking to him?”
“Because he dishonored my name”
“But he’s still your son.”

The former UFC star explained that after the incident he did speak briefly with Raja, only to discover that his son initially hid what happened. For Rampage, that decision carried serious weight—he believes Raja’s actions put his other children in danger. He acknowledged the disappointment runs deep, adding that he needs space while attorneys handle the situation.
At the heart of it, Rampage made it clear this isn’t about permanently severing ties. Instead, it’s about processing the fallout, finding clarity, and addressing what he feels was a serious breach of trust. For a fighter who’s always thrived on composure, this challenge is far more personal.
