Rampage Jackson’s son, Raja, has been arrested and is facing a felony charge after an assault on a professional wrestler.
According to reports, Jackson’s arrest came on September 18 and he is currently being held on a $50,000 bond. The assault happened in August when Raja attacked wrestler Stuart Smith, also known as “Syko Stu.” The assault occured from a backstage altercation where threw a can at Jackson’s head.
Jackson then picked up Smith and slammed him to the mat, throwing over 20 unanswered punches at Smith, who was rendered unconscious. Smith suffered a fractured jaw, broken facial bones, and several lost teeth, as he was in hospital. While he is now in a stable condition, Raja has been arrested.
A felony conviction could result in a significant prison sentence and a criminal record. The assault, which was captured on video, will make it nearly impossible for Raja to secure future employment in any legitimate wrestling or MMA promotion. Jackson’s decision to continue punching an unconscious opponent is a fundamental breach of that trust.
For the victim, Stuart Smith, the implications are dire. Beyond the physical harm, the incident itself sends a chilling message to the entire wrestling community, especially at the independent level. Professional wrestling is built on a foundation of trust between performers, who depend on each other to keep them safe. Rampage admitted that he is on good terms with his son.
“I’m not cutting him off forever. I just haven’t talked to him. I talked to him after the s— happened, and he hid the fact that he did this. He put my other kids in danger. I’m not saying I’m never going to talk to him again, I just can’t talk to him right now. “I just need some time. I’m dealing with his attorneys, but I’m very disappointed in Raja,” Jackson said
