Off the back of his incredible win at UFC 321, Valter Walker revealed a gruesome injury suffered — but not stranger than an injury he suffered before his Octagon run even began.
Showing off his incredible grappling ability, Brazilian star Valter Walker turned in yet another heel hook submission win — stopping promotional newcomer Louie Sutherland in the very first round at UFC 321.
And with his victory, Walker moved to 15-1 as a pro and secured his fourth straight heel hook submission in the Octagon, becoming the first fighter to do so.
However, dealing with a fracture to his fibula during the grappling exchange against Sutherland, Walker revealed a pre-Octagon injury came under the most bizarre of circumstances.
Confirming his sidelining through his latest leg injury, in the aftermath of his win in the Middle East, surging grappling star Walker opened up on another injury he suffered.
According to the heavyweight prospect — whose elder brother is light heavyweight contender Johnny Walker, a pet dog of his in Russia “ate” his toe, in one of the most bizarre out-of-camp injuries we’ve ever heard of.
“I have a dog in Russia… eat my toe,” Walker told Nina Drama. “Doggies in Russia are crazy. Dogs in Russia are dangerous. That time, I was not in UFC — I didn’t have a lot of money, couldn’t even buy food for my dog.
“One day I was sleeping, and he eat my toe,” Walker explained. “I don’t know why. You see, he ate my toe.”
Seemingly losing his pinky toe during the incident, Walker revealed he had just taken some medicine following the bizarre episode and took it in his stride.
Just one more win away from matching a record for most heel hooks in UFC history set by Brazilian compatriot Rousimar Palhares, Walker already has his sights set on his next foe.
Sharing the UFC 321 card with Hamdy Abdelwahab and fan-favorite heavyweight veteran Chris Barnett, Walker called for the Egyptian contender.
With Abdelwahab’s — and Barnett’s name escaping him, Walker referred to the latter as “chocolate Peppa Pig,” claiming he wants to fight Abdelwahab in his comeback.
