Benoit Saint Denis will enter his Sydney headliner against Quillan Salkilld as the betting underdog when the UFC returns to Australia on Feb. 6.
Salkilld, who holds a 13-1 record, has won 13 straight fights including his submission finish of Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Vegas 120 last August. The ranked lightweight gets the home-cage advantage at Qudos Bank Arena for what shapes up as his biggest test to date.
Saint Denis enters the bout at 17-4 with one no contest. The 30-year-old Frenchman is looking to bounce back from his submission loss to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 329 in July.
The matchup pits Salkilld's momentum against Saint Denis's veteran experience at lightweight. Saint Denis is four years older than his 26-year-old opponent but has fought deeper competition over his UFC tenure.
UFC Sydney marks the promotion's first event in Australia since early 2025. The Feb. 6 card will air live from Qudos Bank Arena with the lightweight main event scheduled for five rounds.
