Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has been training hard lately — trying to learn how to do wheelies on his motorcycle.
On Monday that training led to a crash that left Strickland with some nasty cuts, but they don’t seem to have phased the UFC star.
Strickland ostensibly indicated that he’d continue working on his wheelies when he wrote “I’m good man! Gonna hit it again after training” in a reply to a concerned commenter on X:

The top middleweight contender provided more details about his crash in an Instagram story, per MMA Mania:
“Well you guys, I got a little overconfident. … I was riding the Balance Point, I was doing it, I was keeping it up, kept doing it, then went a little too far back. Training today is gonna f------ suck. But, I’m an idiot. I flipped my bike, gotta man up and train.”
This isn’t the first time Strickland has crashed a motorcycle. In 2018 a motorcycle accident crushed his leg and nearly ended his career.
“I just remember waking up like ‘f---, I hope I can fight again,’” he told MMA Fighting reporter Damon Martin in an interview about the 2018 crash.
Fortunately, Strickland’s latest motorcycle blunder wasn’t even enough to make him miss a day of training. But fans who want to see Strickland take back his belt are likely nervous that he’ll self-destruct before he gets the chance.
Strickland has said he won’t fight again until he gets a title shot. If he keeps his word, he may have a lot of down time to devote to his dangerous hobby.
Current middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis is defending his title against Israel Adesanya at UFC 305 on Aug. 17. And there’s a chance that Robert Whittaker will leapfrog Strickland and fight for the belt next.
Hopefully, though, UFC president Dana White will carefully consider the consequences of letting a bored Sean Strickland roam the Earth for too long.
