Jean Silva wore sugar skull face paint and barked at Jose Delgado during Friday's Noche UFC 4 ceremonial weigh-ins in Glendale, Arizona, declaring himself the true representative of Mexico despite his Brazilian nationality.
Silva took the stage slowly and kept his face hidden before revealing the elaborate paint job, per MMA Fighting. When the two featherweights squared up, Silva unleashed his trademark bark while Delgado stood his ground. "Let me tell you something, Jose Delgado was not born in Mexico; he's not Mexican," Silva said through a translator. "But I represent you, and you live in my heart. I'll represent you well tomorrow."
Tommy McMillen and Marwan Rahiki barely lasted seconds before security had to step in. McMillen shoved his opponent and appeared to take a swipe at him, according to MMA Mania. As security dragged McMillen away, he threw something at Rahiki before pumping up the crowd. The two undefeated featherweight prospects have traded words all week, with their bad blood already spilling over at the fighter hotel earlier in fight week.
The co-main event features former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno against Joseph Morales, who shared a far quieter final staredown. Noche UFC 4 takes place Saturday at Desert Diamond Arena, with early prelims at 2 p.m. ET and the main card at 5 p.m. ET.
