SlapFIGHT Championship’s “INFLUX” event set the stage for a monumental night, with two tournaments designed to replenish the contender pools for the heavyweight and super heavyweight divisions.
With reigning champions Frank the Tank (heavyweight) and Grizzly (super heavyweight) having cleared out their respective classes, 14 aspiring slap fighters entered the fray, all vying for a coveted contract and a shot at the top. The night was filled with brutal knockouts, surprising upsets, and grueling wars of attrition, ultimately crowning new challengers in spectacular fashion.
The SlapFIGHT heavyweight tournament started with a bang as “The Silverback” made a statement by knocking out “Hammer” in the first quarter-final match.
The action continued with a close five-round battle between “Slapmare” and “Young and Lavish,” where Young and Lavish’s power and resilience earned him a hard-fought judges’ decision. Another quarter-final saw “Break It Blake” advance after his opponent, “The General,” accumulated multiple penalties for stepping and flinching, which ultimately cost him the match.
In the final SlapFIGHT heavyweight quarter-final, “Controversy” Cody Cox secured his spot in the semifinals with a decisive victory over “Rooster,” who, despite his toughness, was penalized for several fouls. The semifinals saw The Silverback defeat Young and Lavish, while Controversy advanced past Break It Blake, who had to withdraw due to a wrist injury sustained in his first fight.
The super heavyweight division brought even larger athletes and more drama in SlapFIGHT Influx. The first matchup was a chaotic clash between the colossal “Sasquatch” and “TKO” from Team Biscuit. Despite landing powerful strikes that knocked TKO down, Sasquatch was penalized repeatedly for fouls, including stepping and clubbing. TKO showed immense heart by getting back to his feet and ultimately won the fight via disqualification after enduring a barrage of illegal blows.
In another super heavyweight bout, “The Punisher” overcame a first-round knockdown to deliver a stunning knockout victory against “The Big Beast”. Meanwhile, “Trunk” received a bye into the next round. However, the tournament took another turn when The Punisher had to withdraw due to injury, setting up a final between TKO and Trunk for the super heavyweight contract.
The finals delivered on their promise of high-stakes action. In the super heavyweight final, the fresher and more powerful Trunk proved to be too much for the battle-tested TKO. Despite Trunk’s incredible durability shown throughout the night, TKO secured the win by judge’s decision.
The heavyweight final pitted two of the night’s most impressive performers against each other: “Controversy” Cody Cox and “The Silverback”. In a shocking and explosive finish, Controversy knocked out The Silverback in the second round to win the heavyweight tournament and earn his contract. In recognition of their outstanding performances, SlapFIGHT Championship also awarded contracts to TKO, The Silverback, and Trunk, while the powerful but undisciplined Sasquatch was also signed, ensuring a massive influx of new talent for the divisions.
