Viral MMA fighter Malcolm Schuyler has built a fanbase before making his pro debut.
Alongside ‘Death Sentence’, the streamer who goes by ‘WingedC’ has received training from MMA legend Demetrious Johnson in the past.
The 24-year-old had a 6-2 amateur record, and countless wins in backyard fighting league ‘Streetbeefs’, before making the decision to turn pro.
While Schuyler secured a knockout win in Karate Combat last month, his second outing of the year didn’t go quite as well for the larger-than-life-personality.
On Saturday night at Future Fight League 2 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, ‘WingedC’ made his pro MMA debut in a flyweight matchup with fellow American Yve Nelson.
Malcolm Schuyler’s flamboyant style has led to him producing some impressive highlights but it also leaves him vulnerable to shots from his opponents.
On this occasion, it was Schuyler that was on the end of a knockout finish, with Nelson dropping him with a head kick before landing several strikes that forced the referee to step in.
The streamer quickly returned to his feet but stumbled head first into the cage while his opponent celebrated, as seen in a clip of the finish posted by Full Send MMA.
What many were quick to notice is that this isn’t the first time that a head kick has caused Schuyler problems.
WingedC was dropped by a head kick in his last amateur fight, where he was submitted by Austin Haverkamp at APFC 21 last November.
This is also the same technique that Demetrious Johnson caught Schuyler with when he became frustrated with the fighter’s constant taunting while he was attempting to train him.
