Retired UFC featherweight Cub Swanson has responded to actor Jonah Hill's bold claims about his Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills, telling followers he plans to test the Hollywood star if they meet again.
Hill made waves during a recent SiriusXM Smartless appearance when he said his training would allow him to destroy anyone who challenged him, per a report from Sherdog. The actor, whose weight loss transformation has drawn attention, said jiu-jitsu has boosted both his fitness and confidence despite his wife's skepticism about his fighting ambitions.
"My favorite thing is people are like, 'Oh, Jonah Hill, fat guy from Superbad.' And I'm like, 'I would annihilate you, dude. I'm not kidding you. Try it. If you see me, try it, dude. Bring it. Who's got it?'" Hill said on the podcast.
Swanson, who retired in April after beating Nate Landwehr at UFC 327, posted on X that he would take Hill up on the offer. "If I run into him again. I'm gonna try him," the former featherweight wrote with a smiling emoji.
Hill acknowledged that his body struggles with the demands of jiu-jitsu training but said he loves the martial art regardless. Swanson spent nearly 15 years competing in the UFC's featherweight division before hanging up his gloves earlier this year.
