If Wednesday’s one-point affair between the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks is anything to judge by, the state of Texas could be on the brink of becoming the NBA’s most exciting rivalry.
With Victor Wembanyama and Co. welcoming Cooper Flagg, Kyrie Irving and the Mavs to the Frost Bank Center, Wemby took this round 112-111. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year played perhaps the best game of his young NBA career, posting career-highs in both points (52) and rebounds (24) while blocking eight shots en route to San Antonio’s sixth-consecutive win.
The Frenchman became the first player ever with 25+ points, 10+ rebounds and 5+ blocks in the first half of a game and just the second ever to finish with a 50/20/5 line, joining Bob McAdoo from 1974.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Now in his fourth season, Wemby is once again leading the league in blocks while scoring in bunches. With that being said, can you name the NBA players to score at least 1,500 points and block 150 shots in at least one season?
Good luck!
