Tom Aspinall Not Intrigued By White House Card

Defending UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has little interest in the growing buzz around a potential White House UFC event in 2026 even if it means facing Jon Jones in what’s being billed as a historic showcase for American combat sports.

Aspinall, who captured the heavyweight belt from Jones last October by defeating Ciryl Gane, has already locked in his next title defense and says his attention isn’t straying.

“Mate, it’s just boring. So boring. I don’t even have a comment,” Aspinall told reporters. “I’ve got a fight already, so that’s my focus. It’s how I manage things mentally. It’s spent zero seconds in my head. Not interested, mate. Not interested.”

White House stage, not a priority

While UFC CEO Dana White and President Donald Trump have hyped the idea of an open-air fight card on the South Lawn, Aspinall made it clear the location isn’t a motivating factor for him.

“The White House card doesn’t not interest me, but it doesn’t really grab me, to be honest. I’ll fight anywhere, doesn’t bother me.”

The 32 year old champion even suggested that the historic setting might be better suited for U.S. fighters.

“It’d be a cool experience, but I think Americans should get the shot at the White House. I’m not American. Trump and the political stuff in America don’t really concern me, to be honest.”

The Jones Factor

Jones, who vacated his heavyweight title after contract talks with the UFC stalled, has yet to commit to a return fight. Aspinall has kept the door open for a showdown but says he won’t get drawn into public speculation. For now, the British champion’s stance is clear focus on the fight in front of him, not the spectacle around him.
