Tom Aspinall lashed out at his most recent opponent following a post on social media.
The medical updates that Aspinall has provided show that there’s still no timeframe for his return to the Octagon.
In October, his first defense of the undisputed UFC heavyweight title ended in the first round after he couldn’t continue due to being poked in both of his eyes.
While Aspinall has recently spoken about a potential move into boxing at some stage of his career, he’s made it clear that his health is his only priority right now.
However, a recent statement from the man he faced in the main event of UFC 321 prompted the Brit to remind people what his other goal is.
Tom Aspinall claims that Ciryl Gane intentionally cheated by trying to compromise his vision with eye pokes in the main event of UFC 321.
The heavyweight champion has always been a laid back and easy-going presence at the top of the sport, but things have changed after what he went through several months ago.
Aspinall, who wasn’t happy with Dana White’s comments about the fight, has claimed via his YouTube channel that there will be “no more ‘Mr. Nice Guy'” when he returns.
This was the case when he responded to Gane’s recent post on Instagram about his next fight.
The French contender shared photos of him training with fellow UFC heavyweight Tai Tuivasa, writing that he doesn’t have a date or opponent yet but is continuing to work hard in the gym.
“No s— there’s not a date yet,” A fired up Aspinall replied. “I’m not medically cleared to fight and about to have surgery thanks to your disgusting fingernails. I’ll be back to smash your face in soon you cheat.”
Tom Aspinall has made it very clear that the relationship between him and Ciryl Gane is going to be very different heading into their rematch.
While the Brit has spoken very seriously about taking each step as it comes to prioritize his health, his sense of humor has still shone through from time to time.
Along with posting various memes on social media, the champion recently joked about his injuries in a video on his YouTube channel.
When he was told while standing in a cryotherapy chamber that it tends to focus on areas where you’ve had injuries, he responded, “Get my eyes in!”
