Undefeated fighters in combat sports can give off a certain mystique. It is not as common in MMA as it is in boxing to see a fighter with over 20 fights who is undefeated. In MMA, the best fight the best earlier in their careers than in boxing.

This is a two-part series on the top 20 undefeated fighters in the sport of MMA. Here in part one, we will look at fighters 11 though 20.

First let’s look at the top fighters who lost their O’s in 2025.

Three of the five fighters from last year’s top 20 list lost their O’s in title fights.

Umar Nurgagomedov

At UFC 311 this past January, Nurmagomedov fought Merab Dvalishvili for the UFC bantamweight title. The Dagestani fighter was 18-0 going into the fight. He lost a unanimous decision in a great fight.

Tatiana Suarez

At UFC 312 in February, Suarez fought Weili Zhang for the UFC strawweight title. Suarez was 11-0 and the No. 1 ranked UFC strawweight going into the fight. Suarez lost by unanimous decision.

Johnny Eblen

After defending his Bellator middleweight title three times, Eblen fought Costello van Steenis for the inaugural PFL middleweight championship in July. This was the first event by a major MMA promotion in Africa. Eblen was 16-0 coming into the fight. He was ahead on the scorecards before losing by fifth-round rear naked choke.

Shara Magomedov

Shara “Bullet” was 15-0 and the No. 14 ranked UFC middleweight when he fought Michael “Venom” Page last February in Saudi Arabia. Magomedov lost by unanimous decision.

Daniel Marcos

Marcos was 17-0 and won his first four fights in the UFC when he fought Montel Jackson in May. Marcos lost by unanimous decision.

Top 20 Undefeated Fighters – 11 to 20

11. Shamil Musaev (20-0-1, 4-0 PFL)

Musaev made his pro debut in June of 2013. He went 10-0 with 8 finishes on the regional scene in Russia and Belarus before fighting for top Polish promotion KSW in April of 2019. The wushu sanda specialist went 3-0-1 for KSW.

Musaev entered the 2024 PFL welterweight season in April with his first fight in the regular season against former Bellator interim champ Logan Storley. He won by second round KO. In his second regular season fight in June, Musaev defeated fellow undefeated Russian fighter Murad Ramazanov (12-0) by second round TKO. Musaev drew Ramazanov in a rematch in the semifinals where he won again, this time by unanimous decision.

In the PFL Championship finals in November of 2024, Musaev fought another undefeated Russian fighter in Magomed Umalatov who was 17-0. Musaev won via third round TKO to win the one-million-dollar season, and to become the 2024 PFL welterweight champion.

Musaev was inactive in 2025. He is scheduled to fight fellow undefeated Russian Ramazan Kuramagomedov for the vacant PFL welterweight championship in the co-main event of PFL Dubai: Nurgagomedov vs. Davis in February.

12. Azamat Murzakanov (16-0, 6-0 UFC)

Murzakonov made his pro debut in February of 2010 and won via KO in just 10 seconds. He didn’t return to MMA until 2015 where he had a lot of success on the regional scene. In November of 2019, Murzakanov won a four-man, single night, open weight tournament for Brave Combat Federation.

In August of 2021, the light heavyweight impressed Dana White with a first round TKO over Matheus Scheffel on Dana White’s Contender Series, which earned the Russian a UFC contract.

Murzakanov made his UFC debut in March of 2022 with a third round flying knee knockout of Tafon Nchukwi that earned him a performance of the night bonus. He returned in August of 2022 and defeated Devin Clark by third round TKO.

in April of 2023, the Russian fighter defeated his first ranked opponent in Dustin Jacoby, by unanimous decision. In August of 2024, Murzakanov defeated another ranked fighter in Alonzo Menifield. He scored a second round TKO over Menifield, which earned him his second performance of the night bonus in four UFC fights.

Murzakanov stepped up in activity and opposition in 2025. At UFC 316 in June, “The Professional” earned a first round TKO over Brendson Ribeiro. At UFC 321 in October, Murzakanov had his highest profile fight to date against Alekksander Rakic to open the pay per view main card. Murzakanov scored another first round TKO.

The 36-year-old is currently ranked No. 6 in the UFC light heavyweight division.

13. Muhammad Mokaev (16-0, 7-0 UFC)

After an extensive amateur career that saw him go undefeated with over 20 documented fights, Mokaev made his pro debut for the Brave Combat Federation in August of 2020. Mokaev went 4-0 for Brave CF and 6-0 overall before making his UFC debut at just 21 years of age.

Mokaev defeated Cody Durden by guillotine choke only 58 seconds into the fight in front of his home country fans in London, England. He earned a $50,000 performance bonus for his quick submission victory.

Mokaev faced his first ranked opponent in former title challenger Tim Elliot at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, in October of 2023. Mokaev won a performance of the night bonus with a third-round arm-triangle choke submission.

Mokaev fought the last two fights on his UFC contract in March and July of 2024, defeating two UFC top ten fighters in Alex Perez and Manel Kape by unanimous decision. The UFC chose not to re-sign Mokaev, which is very rare when a fighter is coming off a win, let alone a top 10 undefeated fighter. It has been reported that UFC officials say Mokaev has been hard to deal with and his style is not the most exciting.

Mokaev returned to the Brave CF organization in December of 2024, defeating Jovincent So by first round D’arce choke submission.

After taking a karate fight where he won by second round body kick at a Karate Combat event in May, Mokaev went 2-0 in MMA in 2025. This included a second-round head kick KO over Gerard Burns (7-1) at Brave CF 100 in November.

Mokaev is still just 25-years-old and is a top 10 flyweight in the world. He has made it public that he wants to get back to the UFC.

14. Thad Jean (11-0, 7-0 PFL)

Thad Jean made his pro debut for the CES promotion in Massachusetts in August of 2021, winning by first round rear naked choke. He won his next three fights for respected regional promotions in CFFC, LFA and Combate Global.

Jean was 4-0 when he fought on the PFL Challengers Series where he defeated 7-0 Eric Alequin in January of 2023. Jean didn’t fight again in 2023 and went 2-0 in 2024 for the PFL.

At 4-0 in the PFL and 8-0 overall, Jean earned a spot in the 2025 PFL world tournament. In April Jean won his quarterfinal matchup against 17-2 Mukhamed Berkhamov. He returned in June to defeat former Bellator champ Jason Jackson (19-5) by split decision. In August, Jean fought former Bellator interim champ Logan Storley (18-3). Jean defeated Storley by unanimous decision to become the 2025 PFL world tournament champion and take home a $500,000 check.

The 27-year-old welterweight does not currently have a fight scheduled. He may be in line to fight the winner of the inaugural PFL welterweight title fight in February between fellow undefeated fighters Shamil Musaev and Ramazan Kuramagomedov.

15. Ramazan Kuramagomedov (13-0, 3-0 Bellator)

Kuramagomedov made his pro MMA debut in August of 2014 and went 4-0 in his native Russia before getting a fight with the PFL in August of 2018. He defeated Robert Hale by unanimous decision in his lone PFL fight.

His next fight was on Dana White’s Contender Series in July of 2019. He defeated Jordan Williams by split decision, which wasn’t enough to earn a UFC contract.

Kuramagomedov returned to the regional scene to win four in a row to bring his record to 10-0 before making his Bellator debut in June of 2023. He earned two stoppage victories in Bellator in 2023.

The Dagestani fighter returned in June of 2024 in the Bellator Champions Series in Dublin, Ireland to face Jason Jackson for the Bellator welterweight title. Jackson was considered one of the top welterweights in the world, having won eight straight in Bellator including winning the Bellator title over Yaroslav Amosov. The Ukrainian Amosov was 27-0 which was the longest undefeated streak in the sport behind Khabib Nurmagomedov’s 29-0. Kuramagomedov defeated Jackson by unanimous decision to become the Bellator welterweight champion.

The 29-year-old Kuramagomedov was inactive in 2025. He is scheduled to fight fellow undefeated Russian Shamil Musaev for the inaugural PFL welterweight championship in the co-main event of PFL Dubai: Nurgagomedov vs. Davis in February.

16. Timur Khizriev (18-0, 4-0 PFL, 3-0 Bellator)

Khizriev made his MMA debut in August of 2014 and went 11-0 on the regional scene in his native Russia. This run included three wins in the ACB and one win in the ACA promotions in Russia.

Khizriev made his Bellator debut in November of 2022 against veteran German fighter Daniel Weichel who was 42-13 at the time. Khizriev won a unanimous decision. Khizriev went 3-0 in Bellator before entering the PFL 2024 featherweight season.

Khizriev defeated a pair of UFC vets in Brett Johns and Enrique Barzola in his regular season matchups in April and June of 2024, respectively. The Dagestani fighter defeated 2023 PFL featherweight runner up Gabriel Braga by split decision in the semifinals in August. Khizriev returned in November 2024 in the PFL Championship final to face 2022 PFL featherweight champ Brendan Loughnane. Khizriev won by unanimous decision to become the 2024 PFL featherweight champion and claim the one-million-dollar prize.

Khizriev was inactive in 2025 after being shot multiple times in a shooting attack in his native Dagestan, Russia. Khizriev did not suffer any life-threatening injuries. It is unknown if and when he may make his MMA return.

17. Farid Basharat (14-0, 5-0 UFC)

Farid Basharat made his pro debut in his native England in April of 2018. He went 7-0 on the regional scene with six finishes including five rear naked chokes and a head kick knockout.

He followed his older brother Javid’s footsteps to the UFC by way of Dana White’s Contender Series. The younger Basharat won his UFC contract on DWCS in September of 2022. Interestingly, the older Javid Basharat also started his MMA career at 14-0 before dropping his O.

The Afghanistan born fighter made his UFC debut at UFC 285 with a unanimous decision victory over Da’Mon Blackshear. In September of 2023, Basharat earned his only finish in the stacked UFC bantamweight division with a first-round arm triangle choke victory over Kleydson Rodrigues.

In 2024, Basharat picked up two unanimous decision victories over veterans Taylor Lapilus and Victor Hugo, respectively.

In his lone fight of 2025, Basharat defeated recently ranked bantamweight Chris Gutierrez by unanimous decision at UFC 320 in October.

The 28-year-old is scheduled to fight fellow to young top prospect Jean Matsumoto (17-1) in February. A win over Matsumoto could put Basharat in the UFC bantamweight rankings and either way would very likely give him a ranked opponent next.

18. Akbar Abdullaev (13-0, 5-0 ONE)

Abdullaev made his pro debut in October of 2020 and won via first round knockout. He went 7-0 on the regional scene in Russia and his native Kyrgyzstan with all his win coming by way of stoppage.

Abdullaev made his debut with ONE Championship in March of 2023 in Singapore. He defeated Ho Taek Oh (9-2-1) by KO in just 44 seconds. He returned in July of 2023 where he defeated Aaron Canarte (10-0) by KO in just 41 seconds.

The Kyrgyzstani fighter was off for nearly a year when he returned in May of 2024. Now 10-0 himself, he took on his second straight 10-0 opponent in Halil Amir. He won by second round KO via left hook.

In January of 2025, Abdullaev headlined his first ONE card in a five-round fight. He showed he had the endurance in the championship rounds as he earned a fifth-round ground and pound stoppage over Kai Tang (19-3). He returned in September where he earned a third round TKO over Ibragim Dauev (11-1).

The 28-year-old is the No. 1 ranked featherweight in ONE Championship. His ONE opponents had an astonishing combined record of 59-6-1 when he faced them. Abdullaev has finished all thirteen of his professional opponents, twelve by KO and one by submission.

19. Islam Omarov (16-0, 9-0 ACA)

Omarov made his MMA debut in October of 2016. He went 6-0 with five finishes before making his debut for the top promotion in Russia, Absolute Championship Akhmat (ACA), in August of 2020.

After winning four straight decisions in ACA, Omarov has been on a tear, winning his last five straight by finish, and against top competition. His opponents are names that most North American fans would not be familiar with, however, his opponents in ACA have a combined record of 168-36-1.

In July of 2023, Omarov won the ACA featherweight title, defeating Alikhan Suleymanov (15-3) by second round TKO.

In February of 2024, Omarov headlined his first event at ACA 171. He defended his featherweight title, defeating Alexey Pulpudnikov (34-9-1) by rear naked choke in the second round.

The Russian is coming off his second title defense in September of 2024. In the main event of ACA 179, Omarov defeated Kurban Taygibov (14-3) by second round guillotine choke.

The 28-year-old was inactive in 2025. He is scheduled to defend his ACA featherweight title at ACA 198 on January 9th. Omarov is fighting a familiar foe in Alikhan Suleymanov (17-4), the man he captured the title from.

20. Archie Colgan (13-0, 8-0 Bellator, 2-0 PFL)

Archie Colgan made his professional debut in March of 2021. After going 2-0 for LFA, Colgan made his Bellator debut in August of 2021.

The University of Wyoming wrestling standout built his record to 7-0 before taking a big step up in competition against perennial Bellator lightweight contender Emannuel Shanchez at Bellator 297. Colgan defeated Shanchez by unanimous decision.

In his last Bellator fight in September of 2024, Colgan defeated fellow undefeated Manoel Souza (11-0) by unanimous decision.

Colgan made his PFL debut this past June defeating Mansour Barnaoui (22-6) by unanimous decision. The 30-year-old retuned in October with a unanimous decision victory over Jay Jay Wilson (11-1).

Note – Movlid Khaybulaev is on the honorable mentions list with an asterisk beside his record. After defeating Jesus Pinedo in the finals of the PFL world tournament in August, Khaybulaev tested positive for a banned substance (recombinant EPO). The PFL subsequently stripped him of his 2025 world tournament featherweight title, and he is facing a one-year suspension. The win still appears on his record and has not yet been turned to a no contest. It is noteworthy that Khaybulaev’s only no contest on his record came from what was originally a knockout loss to Daniel Pineda that was later overturned to a no contest after Pineda tested positive for a banned substance.
