Punches aren’t the only things flying in the Octagon at Noche UFC.
Before Diego Lopes makes the walk to the main event against Jean Silva, his teammate Alessandro Costa fought on the undercard.
Costa welcomed a debuting Alden Coria to the UFC.
Coria is a top flyweight prospect from Texas and the former Fury FC Champion surely showed out for his home state in San Antonio, like he said he would.
However, this wasn’t your ordinary TKO stoppage, with Costa’s corner wanting to call it off.
The 27-year-old Coria got a takedown on Costa in the opening seconds of round 1.
The majority of the opening round took place on the ground, with Costa grabbing hold of Coria’s back at one point.
Rare in MMA, Costa's coach threw in the towel.

Towards the end of the round, Costa injured one of his toes in a scramble, which made it hard for him to walk back up to his corner.
Coria wasted no time in round 2, taking the fight to the injured Costa. Coria chipped away at Costa with strikes and Costa’s team threw in the towel from the corner.
Seconds after, the referee had seen enough and stopped the contest.

Coria improved to 11-3 with the KO over Costa.
Following his first UFC win, Coria asked UFC boss Dana White for a $50,000 performance bonus.
In his post-fight interview, Coria cited it’s because he has a baby coming in eight months.
This was the biggest win of Coria’s career. He had a massive upset title win in Fury FC overturned to a no-contest earlier this year due to a positive drug test for marijuana.
“I was on my Nate Diaz s—,” Coria told Bloody Elbow in August.
