Traveling back to the Great White North, the UFC brings the action to Montreal, Quebec with their much-anticipated pay-per-view event, UFC 315. Taking top billing, welterweight champion Belal Muhammad makes the first defense of his strap against the surging Jack Della Maddalena. In the co-main event of UFC 315, newly-minted women’s flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko looks to stem the rise of Manon Fiorot.
Nearly a year removed from his title-winning performance against Leon Edwards, Muhammad will come to blows with another of the 170-lb division’s most respected strikers in the UFC 315 main event. Displaying an evolved stand up game in his last Octagon outing, “Remember the Name” has the chance to further cement his place on the pound-for-pound pecking order by bringing down the talented young contender from Australia.
A perfect 7-0 in the UFC since joining the company in 2021, Della Maddalena has looked next to perfect over the course of his ascension up the welterweight ladder. Boasting a stellar boxing ability, the Aussie now stands on the cusp of mixed martial arts greatness as he aims to overthrow one of the best fighters in the world.
Ending her rivalry with previous female 125-lb apex Alexa Grasso at UFC 306, Shevchenko is set to begin her second reign as champion on the grandest stage in all of combat sports. Faced with a stiff test in the first defense of her throne, “Bullet” can add to her already impeccable legacy by logging another vintage performance over another strong challenger at UFC 315.
After losing her professional debut in 2018, Fiorot has remained in the win column in her past 12 bouts, proving herself as a top name in women’s mixed martial arts with victories over Mayra Bueno Silva, Rose Namajunas and Erin Blanchfield. Determined to become the first undisputed French UFC champion during UFC 315, “The Beast” will have her work cut out for her when she goes toe-to-toe with the most dominant women’s flyweight competitor of all time.
