The UFC 319 pay-per-view taking place in Chicago has lost three of its fights. Bryan Battle missed the middleweight limit by 4 pounds on Friday. This led to his scheduled matchup with Nursulton Ruziboev (36-9-2) being scratched from the card.

The event also lost “The Ultimate Fighter” welterweight fight between Rodrigo Sezinando and Daniil Donchenko due to an injury to Sezinando. That bout will be rescheduled at a later date. The Diego Ferreira vs. King Green lightweight fight was also scratched. Green shared on social media that he had been forced off the card because of injury.

UFC 319 Down 3 Fights

Battle (12-2) has now missed weight for a UFC appearance two times in a row, with the last one being at welterweight in December. He still missed weight for Saturday’s fight after moving up a weight class. Thankfully, the highly anticipated UFC 319 main event featuring champion Dricus Du Plessis against Khamzat Chimaev for the middleweight title is still on. Both fighters made weight on Friday. The UFC had middleweight title contender Caio Borralho make weight as a backup, just in case.

Final Thoughts

Battle’s missing weight is disappointing, given his strong performance in the UFC, where he boasts a 7-1 record in the Octagon. Fans never want to hear about fights being scratched from a card, especially in a big event. This comes days after Dana White confirmed that a fight night at the White House is going to happen. UFC 320 will feature Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira 2. At least the main event for this card is still happening. Who will leave with the middleweight belt? Dricus Du Plessis or Khamzat Chimaev?
