UFC cuts popular flyweight Rachael Ostovich

As Marc Raimondi wrote for ESPN, UFC boss Dana White told reporters following Saturday's Fight Night show that the promotion was "probably gonna have 60 cuts" before the end of the year as it continues to hold cards inside arenas without paying fans amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Those cuts began on Monday.

Raimondi and other outlets have reported that the UFC has released popular flyweight Rachael Ostovich. The 29-year-old ends her tenure with the promotion on a three-fight losing streak and hasn't notched a victory since she toppled Karine Gevorgyan in 2017. Ostovich fell to 4-6-0 overall following a loss to Gina Mazany via a third-round TKO on Nov. 28 and looked overmatched and out of her depth throughout the contest.

Ostovich first joined the UFC as part of "The Ultimate Fighter 26" in 2017 after competing in the Invicta Fighting Championships. She showed little sign of improving in the octagon over the past several years but could attract interest as a free agent because she has over 750,000 followers on Instagram

Former UFC star Paige VanZant signed a lucrative deal with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in August. Bellator could also be an option for Ostovich.
