Uros Medic vs. Daniel Rodriguez Main Event Breakdown

This main event pits an explosive striker in Medic against the gritty, battle-tested veteran Rodriguez. 

Uros Medic is currently on a three-fight winning streak, all by first-round knockout. His recent victories over Gilbert Urbina, Muslim Salikhov, and, most recently, Geoff Neal have all come via his devastating left hand within the first 80 seconds of the opening round (via UFC):

Medic has maintained a 100% finishing rate in his wins, with all seven of his UFC wins coming by way of knockout. He is primarily a striker who applies relentless forward pressure, aiming to end the fight violently from the opening bell. His confidence is sky-high as he fights in his home country for the first time in nearly nine years.

Daniel Rodriguez enters the bout on a three-fight winning streak of his own, with notable wins over Kevin Holland and Santiago Ponzinibbio. 

The 39-year-old is a lengthy southpaw striker who uses his three-inch reach advantage effectively. He is known for his durability and has only been finished once in his 25-fight career.

A key question mark hovering over Rodriguez, however, is how his inactivity will affect him. He is returning after a year-long layoff, during which he spent several months in prison while in Mexico (via Daniel Rodriguez on Instagram):

The age difference and the toll of Rodriguez's recent layoff could be critical factors in this matchup.

This fight will be a clash of overwhelming power versus proven experience and durability. On the other hand, the pressure of being the first Serbian to headline a UFC card in his home country could be a double-edged sword for Medic.
