UFC Fight Night Preview: Trevor Peek vs. Charlie Campbell
Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

With an upcoming UFC Fight Night, the fight between Trevor Peek and Charlie Campbell flies under the radar. A lightweight battle between two underrated fighters, it’s a chance for both contenders to shine. This fight might also prep UFC fans for the upcoming UFC 300 card, giving everyone an appetizer.

What can we expect from both fighters? Who will get their 15 minutes of fame (and possibly more)? Here’s a look at what Trevor Peek and Charlie Campbell have to offer UFC fans.

The tape on Trevor Peek

Trevor Peek‘s MMA career might be a bit… short. With a record of 9-1 with eight knockouts, there isn’t much that the lightweight fighter offers. However, Peek is a guy who loves to try a little bit of everything. Whether it’s striking his opponent or using grappling to his advantage, Peek isn’t afraid to use everything in his arsenal.

However, that might prove to be advantageous against Campbell. Trevor Peek’s unpredictability can help him win a fight, catching his opponents off-guard. But, he’ll need more straight punches and boxing jabs to make himself a legitimate threat.

The tape on Charlie Campbell

Like Peek, Charlie Campbell (8-2, six KOs) isn’t as experienced as the typical UFC veteran. But “The Cannibal” does love to strike his opponents, averaging 11.03 significant strikes a minute.

Campbell wants more UFC fights in 2024. That starts with putting on a striking masterclass against Peek and taking his offense away. If “The Cannibal” can do this, he’ll become a household name.

The verdict

As mentioned earlier, this match-up is a good opportunity for both fighters to make a name for themselves. It’s also a chance for Peek and Campbell to polish up their fighting styles, giving them the necessary experience. It’s imperative for the two to make the most of this chance.

With that, I like Charlie Campbell for his striking ability. Trevor Peek is still working on his sparring and will need a little more seasoning. This gives “The Cannibal” the perfect opportunity to establish himself as a true lightweight contender.
