Fans questioned whether a former UFC champion was actually a parody account following one post.
Joshua Van called Alexandre Pantoja the greatest flyweight of all time ahead of their title fight at UFC 323 on December 6.
While fans expected a strong showing from the defending champion or a Fight of the Night contender, they got neither due to a shocking result.
Joe Rogan feared for Pantoja after the Brazilian suffered an injury that ended his second bout of the year in just 26 seconds.
A legend of the sport questioned whether the fight should have been allowed to continue for longer when sharing his thoughts on the co-main event.
Let us know in the comments who you think his first flyweight title defense should be against.

Alexandre Pantoja was all class when sharing his reaction to an incredibly unfortunate outcome in the fifth defense of his flyweight title.
After throwing a head kick that left him off balance, the champion used his arm to post before it gave way, with it being immediately clear that he was injured.
Joshua Van stood over his opponent and chose not to immediately chase him to the ground before referee Herb Dean waved the bout off.
Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz believes that the official should have given Pantoja more time to try and continue.
“I wish that Van vs Pantoja fight was aloud [allowed] to keep going,” Cruz wrote on X. “It should be up to us as the fighter if we want to continue after that. We put the time in the training camp in that situation. People dislocate their arms and put it back in place and keep fighting all the time.”
The fans, when replying to Cruz’s post, didn’t agree with the UFC commentator’s take.
Comments like ‘Did you even watch the fight?’ and ‘Pantoja waived it off lol,’ pointed to the fact that the champion himself didn’t dispute the stoppage.
Others questioned whether this was a ‘rage bait’ post from Cruz and admitted that they had to double check to see if it was actually him, writing, ‘I thought this was a parody Dom account for a second.’
While another comment added, ‘Thank God Dominick isn’t a referee,’ another seemingly sarcastically replied, ‘You’re so right. Pantoja quit way too fast. He doesn’t need his arm to win.’
Cruz even received a label that is often thrown around, with his thoughts being called, ‘one of the dumbest takes I’ve ever witnessed’ by multiple fans.
Alexandre Pantoja lost his flyweight title due to an arm injury just 26 seconds into his fight with Joshua Van at UFC 323.

The likes of Joe Rogan were confused by the update regarding Alexandre Pantoja’s injury at UFC 323.
After the event, Megan Olivi relayed that the UFC’s Chief Medical Physician, Dr Jeff Davidson, had said that the champion suffered a shoulder injury, while many believed that it was his elbow that had been damaged.
This update was immediately questioned by the likes of Rogan, which led to Olivi once again confirming what she had been told.
“We triple confirmed, yes, we are still being told it’s his shoulder for those asking,” Olivi wrote on X.
