The UFC is coming off a chaotic pay-per-view event last week when the main event between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane for the undisputed UFC heavyweight championship of the world was halted abruptly due to an unfortunate foul that forced the fight to a no-contest. Not only did the main event leave questions about the heavyweight division, but it also ended anticlimactically, leaving fans begging for more action.
The UFC returns to the Apex in Las Vegas this Saturday, Nov. 1, as a pivotal featherweight clash headlines UFC Fight Night 263. The main event has high-stakes action, as streaking contenders Steve Garcia and David Onama square off to jostle for position in a stacked featherweight division. The entire card is stacked with compelling matchups that feature heavy-hitters, rising prospects, and established veterans all battling for momentum.
The fights are listed below in chronological order, starting with the first preliminary bout and ending with the main event:
Prelims Start: 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT
Main Card Start Time: 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT
Main Event Start: Approximately 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT
How to Watch: The entire fight card, from prelims to main event, will be available for streaming with an ESPN+ subscription for no extra cost.
The main event features a compelling striker-versus-striker matchup between Steve Garcia and David Onama that will likely deliver excitement. Both men are riding significant win streaks and have shown a propensity for finishes.
Steve Garcia enters the contest on a six-fight win streak, with his most recent victory a dominant unanimous decision over Calvin Kattar. Known for his crushing power, Garcia leads the entire UFC featherweight division in knockdowns per 15 minutes, a statistic highlighting his power and fight-ending ability. His pressure and willingness to stand in the pocket make him a constant threat for opponents.
His opponent, David Onama, is riding a four-fight winning streak. His most recent performance was a statement-making unanimous decision over Giga Chikadze in April, a fight where he showcased a disciplined game plan and effective wrestling to secure the win. While a powerful striker in his own right, Onama's path to victory could involve using his grappling to neutralize Garcia's power and control the fight.
The co-main event slots in a heavyweight showdown with implications for the division's landscape. Waldo Cortes-Acosta looks to rebound from his first loss since 2023 against the surging Ante Delija. Delija, the former PFL champion, made a spectacular UFC debut last month with a knockout of Marcin Tybura and could be fast-tracked toward a title shot with another impressive victory. He’s also the training partner of current heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall, who said he would gladly step aside if Delija ends up in a position to challenge for the belt.
Further down the main card, the bout between featherweights Yadier del Valle and Isaac Dulgarian will be a sleeper fight, as both prospects are well-rounded and hungry to make a name for themselves in the promotion.
In the prelims, the women's bantamweight bout between Ketlen Vieira and Norma Dumont is one to watch, as both women are ranked in the top 5 of the division. Dumont is hunting for her sixth consecutive win, a victory that could potentially earn her a title shot, but she faces a tough challenge in the skilled and experienced Vieira.
UFC Fight Night 263 definitely lacks star power compared to every other card this past month, but don’t expect that to mean this card will lack high-level MMA action. The card is filled with rising talent with proven finishing ability, and should not be missed by hardcore fans.
