UFC Vegas 107 is almost here. Friday morning, the final pre-fight exercises began with the official weigh-in window for the card before the ceremonial weigh-in window takes place later on tonight.
Live coverage of tomorrow’s show begins at a slightly later time of 6:30 pm ET/ 3:30 pm PT, a half-hour behind what had been initially scheduled for the event, with the prelims. Main card action follows at 9 pm ET/ 6 pm PT.
If you’re watching tomorrow night’s card from inside the United States, this week’s edition of UFC Fight Night will be seen gavel-to-gavel on ESPN (linear television) and on ESPN+ via streaming. All told, after some late adjustments ahead of the show, the final version of UFC Vegas 107 will feature a schedule of 10 fights from the No. 1 MMA promotion in the world.
While the UFC Vegas 107 main event will go on as scheduled, it will do so after one contestant narrowly missed the contracted weight earlier today. Maycee Barber weighed-in at 126 1/2 lbs, half of a pound over the flyweight nontitle maximum, and, as such, will forfeit 20 percent of her pay.
Her adversary Erin Blanchfield came in on championship weight at 125 lbs. This wasn’t the only fight to have issues on the scales this morning.
During the prelims of tomorrow night’s event, Allan Nascimento is scheduled to take on Jafel Filho, but the former clocked in at 127 1/2 lbs, 1 1/2 lbs beyond the nontitle maximum at flyweight. Filho weighed in at 126 on the button.
Additionally, tomorrow’s planned women’s bantamweight contest matching Ketlen Viera with Macy Chiasson was rebooked to take place as a fight in the featherweight division during the official weigh-ins. Viera encountered weight cut issues ahead of the weigh-ins.
Due to Viera’s weight miss, she’ll now surrender 25 percent of her wages for the contest tomorrow night.
UFC Vegas 107’s bout order is now down to an even 10 contests tomorrow night. A planned catchweight bout that was to have happened at 180 lbs has had to be scrubbed ahead of the show.
Trevin Giles, who was scheduled to verse Andreas Gustafsson in the latter’s UFC debut, has now withdrawn from Saturday night’s card after sustaining an injury. Gustafsson now continues to wait to make his UFC promotional premiere upon securing his contract last summer on Contender Series
The co-headlining affair of this weekend’s Fight Night at lightweight will proceed without incident after this morning’s official weigh-in window. In the co-main event, Mateusz Gamrot will make the walk to the famed Octagon against L’udovit Klein. Both fighters hit the lightweight maximum of 156 lbs without incident.
