UFC Vegas 115 star speaks out after knockout loss and hospital visit

Hailey Cowan has spoken out for the first time since her crushing loss on Saturday night.

The 7-5 fighter was up against 20-year-old rising talent Alice Pereira at UFC Vegas 115.

Their bantamweight bout ended early in the second round after a one-shot knockout, leaving Cowan with another setback to her record.

Alice Pereira finished Hailey Cowan with a knee that landed flush under the chin.

The fight was officially waved off after Cowan took another couple of ground shots, with referee Keith Petersen stepping in before any further damage could be done.

Cowan was sent for precautionary scans on her head and face after falling to 0-3 inside the Octagon. Later, she gave fans a positive update on Instagram, where she has over 50,000 followers.

“God is still good,” Cowan wrote. “I still have lots to smile about:) And I am just fine. Heartbroken, but blessed.”

“Passion is what we do; purpose is why we do it. Thank you, Jesus, for the courage to do scary things and dream big.

“Chin is still high. We march on.”
