UFC veteran provides huge update on Nick Diaz's wellbeing

Over the past couple of years, fans have been concerned for Nick Diaz's wellbeing outside of the cage.

The older Diaz brother has had an impressive career in the sport, managing to capture Strikeforce gold and being recognized as one of the biggest names in MMA during his heights. After dealing with suspension and various other issues, the now-41-year-old stumbled upon some problems in his personal life.

Many feared the worst, expecting Nick Diaz to go down an un-salvageable path, but that may not be the case.

Hoping to get back into the octagon, Diaz seems to be on the mend. According to UFC veteran Jason Miller, the fan-favorite is on the right path.

"Somebody [from Nick Diaz's camp] gave me a note," Miller said. "[The note said], 'Hey, look, he's getting it together.'"

Miller later weighed in on Diaz's struggles outside of competing, shedding light on the struggles that similar people face.

"It's very sensitive to talk about this guys journey because I have a lot of empathy for it."

"Because it's easy, like I said, to fall into this darkness. People do not understand how, you know, if you're a C-level celebrity, it's super easy."

Miller continued.

"A lot of people will glob on you and drag you in this direction, that direction."

"It's super easy to fall into, let aline huge superstar champions like Nick Diaz and BJ Penn."

"So it's hard for me to come off without sounding negative about these guys' experience right now."

"But right now, look, we see that it's not going perfect. And both camps have told me that they're on the right path to get back together."

Nick Diaz looked set to return to the UFC late last year but problems occurred preventing that from happening.
