Conor McGregor is super focused as he is making his comeback against Max Holloway at UFC 329. Fans are expecting a vintage McGregor performance, but after a five-year gap, that is difficult. Talking about that, UFC veteran Dustin Poirier believed “The Notorious” could win if he managed to work on his timing.

Poirier believed McGregor still has the tools to seriously trouble Holloway if he returns with even decent timing and movement. As many were doubting the former two-division champion, the UFC veteran thought the Irish star’s punching power would remain dangerous no matter what. During a recent interview with WeighingIn, he said:

“I dont think Conor’s gonna look as bad as Nate, bro. I think the punching power is gonna be there regardless. Conor is gonna come back from injury and still have that natural punching power. The question for me is timing, athleticism, and movement.“

Poirier explained that the biggest question is McGregor’s timing, athleticism, and movement after such a long layoff. Meanwhile, everyone is talking about this fight, which is the biggest because it marks the return of the UFC’s biggest superstar.

Matt Brown Believes Conor McGregor Could Beat Max Holloway

The hype around Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway has become so massive that many fans were talking about it more than the UFC White House card itself. Recently, MMA veteran Matt Brown explained why he believed McGregor still had a real chance to beat Holloway. In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, the MMA veteran said:

“For one, it’s at 170 and Conor has good power at 170. Max is hittable. He’s certainly a hittable guy. Conor has a win over him in the past. Max has been through the ringer. He’s got a lot of miles on those tires.“

Brown pointed out that “The Notorious” has a size and power advantage at 170 pounds, while also noting that Holloway had absorbed a lot of damage throughout his career. The MMA veteran admitted the matchup depended heavily on which version of Holloway showed up.
