Usman Plan For Domination Unveiled
Per Haljestam-Imagn Images

Kamaru Usman once was on top of the UFC world and was at the top of the pound for pound list. He was cruising until one kick to the head by Leon Edwards changed his trajectory. Usman hasn’t won a match in the Octagon for three years but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have huge goals for the future.

The 38 year old former UFC welterweight champion has a masterplan. He will be an underdog against Joaquin Buckley tonight at UFC Fight Night inside Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. With his expectations of pulling off an upset against Joaquin Buckley. Usman went into detail with ESPN MMA on how he plans on dominating the UFC.

The masterplan

“I’ll lay out the plan right here,” Usman said. “Finish Buckley this weekend, then wait for the winner of Islam and Della Maddalena. Who wouldn’t buy a ticket to the former pound-for-pound Usman against the current pound-for-pound Makhachev? I think that’s something Islam and I would both remember forever.

“Win that, probably vacate and go put myself against middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis or Khamzat Chimaev.”

Those are definitely hefty goals for Usman considering that he has a younger hungry fighter in front of him. Trying to accomplish the same feats that Usman has over the years. It’s wise for Usman to not overlook Buckley on Saturday. Buckley is on the cusp of fighting for a title shot. Clearly Usman is looking at this fight as make or break opportunity. Pulling off an upset will make his plans become one step closer to reality.
