The upcoming fight between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano is being called the biggest women’s fight of all time. Both fighters have been pioneers and helped create the path women fighters follow today. The fight will take place on May 16 at the Intuit Dome on Netflix. Ahead of it, Valentina Shevchenko gave an honest and respectful take, comparing it to iPhones.
Shevchenko found a simple and smart way to say what many people in combat sports have been thinking. Her iPhone example works because it starts with respect before making the point. By comparing iPhone 6 and iPhone 3GS, she shows that both were great in their own time, with new ideas and strong quality.
“Ronda VS Gina is like a competition between iPhone 6 VS iPhone 3GS. Excellent Vintage models. Love them both. Physical condition come and go, but technique will stay forever,” Shevchenko said.

Rousey, at 39, is returning from a decade away from competition. Carano, at 43, is stepping back into a cage for the first time since 2009. The technique they built across their competitive primes does not disappear entirely. As per Shevchenko, the skills learned over many years, like body memory and timing, still stay with a fighter.
After Harrison said her fight with Amanda Nunes could be the biggest ever, Ronda Rousey fired back hard. She said Harrison could not even keep the 145 division going. Rousey also pointed out that if it was really the biggest fight, Harrison would not be earning less money now than she did ten years ago, making her point very clear.
“She couldn’t even keep the 145 division around. If she thinks her fight is the biggest women’s fight of all-time, why’s she getting paid less now then I was 10 years ago,” Rousey said.
