Daniel Cormier is worried about Aaron Pico after his disastrous UFC debut.

‘DC’ was on commentary duty when Lerone Murphy’s vicious spinning elbow ended the UFC 319 co-main event.

Aaron Pico was left unconscious on the floor for several scary moments after his fourth knockout loss in MMA.

Daniel Cormier has now described the concerning scene he witnessed in the Octagon on Saturday night.

The UFC cameras panned away from Pico as medical professionals attended to him at UFC 319.

Fans briefly got to see someone trying to take out the gumshield of the unconscious featherweight.

According to Cormier, Pico’s jaw was so tensed up from the KO blow, his mouthguard wouldn’t come out.

Now, the former dual-weight UFC champion is worried about Pico’s future in the sport after his fifth MMA loss.

“I’m a wrestler, so I’ve known Aaron Pico since he was a little boy.” Cormier said on his YouTube channel.

“That was a bad knockout. His teeth were clenched together. They couldn’t get the mouthguard out.

“That’s very concerning for Aaron Pico. He’s been knocked out now multiple times, and when he’s gotten knocked out, he’s gotten knocked out really bad. So, there’s a little concern on the Pico side.

“Hats off to Lerone Murphy for coming through in his biggest spot ever.”

Aaron Pico update

At the time of writing, Pico hasn’t spoken out about his devastating defeat at UFC 319.

The only update on his health we’ve had is from Dana White immediately after his latest pay-per-view event.

Geoff Neal suffered a grim spinning elbow KO loss to Carlos Prates just before the co-headliner.

White provided a medical update on the two UFC 319 stars that suffered similar losses on the card.

“Pico was transferred [to the hospital] and I haven’t heard anything about Geoff, I think he’s okay,” the UFC CEO said during his post-fight press conference.

“But Pico, I’m no doctor, but I’m going to say he has a concussion, for sure.

“We haven’t heard anything back that anything bad is happening.

“He’s getting checked for his head and face.”
