Waldo Cortes-Acosta reveals secret confrontation with Josh Hokit after crude callout

Waldo Cortes-Acosta has spoken out about the time he and his wife confronted Josh Hokit over his crass callout at UFC 324.

Hokit is one of the most outrageous individuals to arrive on the scene in recent UFC memory, and has backed up the trash talk from his various ‘characters’ with impressive performances in the cage. However, he may have gone too far when he called for a fight with number four-ranked Acosta.

Back in January, Hokit branded him a ‘deadbeat father’, before apologizing in a tweet and calling for a different fight altogether. However, there is still clearly bad blood between the pair, and a fight could be in the offing should Cortes Acosta make it through Alexander Volkov at UFC 328.

During an explosive post-fight interview at UFC 324 that was so crude it was never uploaded to social media, Josh Hokit called out Waldo Cortes Acosta for a fight. He branded the father of nine a ‘deadbeat’, leading to a frosty meeting when they crossed paths at the Meta Apex.

“He didn’t just say things about me,” Cortes Acosta told Bloody Elbow today in New Jersey. “He said things about my family, my kids, everything. I don’t know what ‘character’ got into him for him to talk all that crap but basically I saw him over at the Apex, I saw him up close, training.

“I kind of looked down on him a little bit and said ‘I don’t know what you’re thinking but get ready, because it’s coming for you’… When I saw him out there and we saw each other on the elevators he said ‘I was just saying those things to sell the fight, I was just saying it to create hype and everything else’.

“I just said ‘you’re a pendejo man, a p—-‘… Why don’t we get him on camera? If it was a lie, then go ahead because my wife was actually in front of him too, so why not go on camera and say it was all a lie?

“If he continues to talk, talk, talk and then walk the walk as well like he did when he put on a show against Curtis Blaydes then why not?”
