To most people’s surprise, Kyle Daukaus was recently announced as one of the fighters confirmed for a bout on the UFC White House card. Even more interesting is the fact that Daukaus himself admits being “undeserving” of that honor. He will be competing against Bo Nickal.
Dana White has a habit of surprising fans with unexpected and historic moments. Most UFC fighters tried to earn a spot in the White House fight but failed. Daukaus, however, got that chance and admits being shocked by it.

I repeat…
KYLE DAUKAUS & AIEMANN ZAHABI are going to be on the MOST WATCHED fight card in HUMAN HISTORY…
Absolute insanity. I am disgusted. I can’t believe this.#UFCWhiteHouse pic.twitter.com/sobf4pNt6D
Speaking about the opportunity, Daukaus openly acknowledged that he didn’t believe he belonged on such a stacked card. He said he expected the promotion to stack the event with “the who’s who” of MMA and added that he didn’t think he would be picked.
More strikingly, he admitted he didn’t feel he “deserved” the spot when compared to the caliber of fighters expected on a stage like this. While that honestly does sound absurd, it also reflects exactly how Daukaus himself sees himself.
He is still an unranked fighter who is struggling to make a name for himself. And he got that chance against one of the fastest-rising prospects in the division.
Daukaus’ UFC journey has been anything but smooth. He is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt known for his elite submissions. He entered the promotion back in 2020 after a successful time in Cage Fury Fighting Championships and was a two-time middleweight champion there.
To his benefit, Daukaus did seem promising during his early UFC fights. Especially his win over Dustin Stoltzfus was widely applauded by fans.
Kyle Daukaus just flatlined Michel Pereira in the FIRST round in his first UFC fight since 2022.

Left the UFC, became the Cage Fury middleweight champion and defended it multiple times, rejoined the UFC and KO’d one of the most entertaining middleweights on short notice.

By early 2023, he had completed his contract and left UFC. He then fought in some regional promotions and captured and defended his titles. After that, he again rejoined UFC in 2025.
He made sure to deliver a good comeback by knocking out Michel Pereira and submitting Gerald Meerschaert. Now, in 2026, he earned a spot on the hyped and much-awaited White House card. Despite undermining himself, Daukaus has a chance to redeem himself and change the fans’ narrative.
