Yoel Romero has a knack for putting on spectacular performances, and that was the case yet again during the inaugural Dirty Boxing Championship event.
Dirty Boxing is a newly established promotion owned by former UFC star and current BKFC ace Mike Perry. The new fight organization promotes close-ranged violence as athletes compete in an 18-foot ring with a pair of five-ounce gloves.
On Saturday, November 23, several invitees attended Dirty Boxing Championship's behind-closed-doors event. Headlining the show was fan-favorite physical phenom, Yoel Romero, who made short work of his opponent.
'Soldier of God' looked back to his best and showcased some excellent combination work throughout the first round.
It didn't take long for Yoel Romero to display his brilliance. Before the first round came to an end, Romero flatlined Duane Crespo with a devastating left hand.
Following his victory, Romero was embraced by Dirty Boxing's Mike Perry, who was ecstatic to witness a violent end to what could be the first of many events under his ownership.
Several stars were in attendance at the show, with Paige VanZant and Jarrell Miller spotted enjoying the action.
Among the notable faces sat at ringside was UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones. The man considered by many to be the greatest of all time was in disbelief at the devastating knockout and showed his support for Romero after his win.
After getting his hands raised against Duane Crespo, Yoel Romero has now won four of his last five fights across combat sports.
Last time out, the 47-year-old secured a unanimous decision win over Thiago Santos during the PFL vs. Bellator card earlier this year.
However, Crespo isn't the greatest of opponents that Yoel Romero could have faced. 'The Iron Giant' is best known for his performances under the Power Slap banner, winning five of his six outings for the promotion.
Despite facing a lesser-experienced opponent, Romero did what was expected of him and provided fight fans with another devastating finish.
