The Phoenix Suns welcome the Los Angeles Clippers to Footprint Center tonight, their first meeting of the 2023-24 season.
It's a matchup Devin Booker is excited for:
"I love it," Booker said when asked about tonight's battle. "It's a high-power game, a lot of talent on the floor ... Probably one of those teams that you never know, you could possibly see in the playoffs. That's a team I watch a lot of."
The Suns advanced past Los Angeles in the first round of the NBA playoffs last year.
Out of the numerous matchups on the floor tonight, none will be highlighted more than Booker vs Paul George thanks to a handful of comments swapped between the two this past offseason.
Booker says issues between the two are only on the court.
"It's just competitors, man. So that's what it is, fun and competitive," said Booker.
The Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin asked about an earlier skirmish back in the 2020-21 season where Booker came to the defense of Cam Payne during a heated battle, which prompted George to step in.
According to Booker, that's where it started, though nothing about the spat between the two All-Stars lives off the court.
"Yeah, that's where it started. It's just never been resolved. It's just hoops man, it's competitive, it's nothing that lives off the floor, so it's fine," said Booker.

This past offseason, George had Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson on his podcast and brought up the incident between Thompson and Booker last season.
After Thompson cleared the air, Booker left a few comments on the viral clip:
Needless to say, tonight should be fun.
Suns-Clippers will tip just after 7:00 PM Arizona time.
