The race at Talladega carried twists at every corner, moreover on the straights. The drivers were stuck in a slipstream train, and this caused the race to be a mundane one, especially for Kyle Busch . The former cup series champion was frustrated with his 27th place finish after staying in the top pack for a long and blamed it on the draggy cars. His former teammate Denny Hamlin has now come forth agreeing with him.
The race at Talladega was not like its prequels. The Super Speedway lacked action for most parts of it as drivers formed trains, and no one wanted to be the lead car and be the one punching the hole for everyone else. This caused a peculiar situation in Alabama as those drivers who tried to make a move on the leaders fell down the pack due to the increased drag pushing them down the field, which motivated others to stay behind the leaders.
This caught out Kyle Busch as he tried to make a move for the top spots but was dragged down by his car and fell like a pebble through water in the following seconds. This caused him to vent his frustration X, and Denny Hamlin stated that he could not agree more with the former champion’s frustration.
Subsequently, the JGR driver downplayed the NextGen cars for their massive spoilers and aerodynamic inlets for their inability to race on speedways. Furthermore, he explained that moving out of line/draft would end anybody’s race and thus, discourage drivers from being bold and making moves at the high-speed mayhems.
He’s so right though. And that’s the tough part about it, is that when you look at the final restart, it looks like the last lap. The two cars that controlled the outside line and the inside line were the same cars the entire last thirty laps. Because you cannot afford to get out of line. If you get out of line, it’s over. The reason that is is because these cars have a ton of drag. Denny Hamlin said on his Actions Detrimental podcast.
Denny Hamlin claims that he will win at Dover
The race at Talladega was an emotional rollercoaster for Hamlin. The 43-year-old had retired from the race after his clash with Toyota teammates, nullifying his efforts. On the contrary, Tyler Reddick won the race in Hamlin co-owned 23XI Racing bringing a smile to his face. Subsequently, after witnessing his own team do well, the No.11 driver is adamant that he will win in Dover this weekend.
Over the years, Hamlin has been able to secure the gold medal at Dover only once. However, after the race at Talladega, he has predicted that he will win in Dover and bring another trophy to his cabinet this weekend.

Apart from this, the JGR driver, despite scoring multiple wins, is in sixth place in the standings. Moreover, he is around 50 points a drift from the championship leader and would want to close that up in Dover and mount a challenge for the top of the standings.
