Brad Keselowski needed a good run in the Coca-Cola 600 in the worst way.
The 2012 NASCAR Cup Series champion entered Sunday's race 33rd in the Cup Series points standings with no finish better than 11th over the first 12 races of the season.
Fortunately for Keselowski and the No. 6 team, the wily veteran clawed his way to a fifth-place finish in the Coke 600, marking his first top-10 effort of the year and his first since Martinsville on November 3, 2024.

In a year marred by bad luck for the No. 6 team, Sunday's race was proof that if extenuating circumstances don't get in the way, Keselowski is still capable of being competitive. After all, it was only a year ago that Keselowski won at Darlington and made the Cup Series playoffs.
"We've been really competitive the last few weeks," Keselowski told reporters following the race. "I feel like it hasn't all come together. It still hasn't come together. This car has the speed to win the race."

It's a long road — and one that likely requires another trip to victory lane — for Keselowski to make the playoffs this season, but if the No. 6 team gets on a roll, they can be one of the most dangerous teams in the garage.
