Good news for Brad Keselowski today. He gets to leave the hospital and head home in time for Christmas later in the week. Keselowski suffered a broken leg while skiing last Thursday. He had surgery to repair the injury and is hoping to recover in time for the 2026 season.
When Chase Elliott broke his leg, it took him about seven weeks to come back to racing. That gives Brad Keselowski a pretty solid timeline to be ready to go, at least for the Daytona 500.
The Clash at Bowman Gray might be in question. However, Brad Keselowski is focused on being ready for Daytona. First up, he’s ready for the holidays.
“Rolling out of the hospital and officially on the road to recovery,” Keselowski posted on social media. “Grateful for incredible care and a smooth ride home in my Ford Expedition. Ready to be home for the holidays!”

It’s great to see Brad Keselowski heading home already. A few days to heal up in the hospital and he’s ready to start recovering. The news of Keselowski’s injury came at a highly unfortunate time. He broke his leg the same day that Greg Biffle and his family, along with three friends, died in a plane crash in North Carolina.
RFK Racing handled the situation well. They waited a day and then some to make the announcement. Then, they kept the focus on Biffle and the horrible tragedy that occurred.
Following his injury, Brad Keselowski let fans know exactly how it all played out. Again, it was unfortunate timing given the tragic news that happened on the same day. Keselowski explained that and gave a short story about Biffle.
“I broke my leg and was going into surgery when the tragic plane accident happened to Greg and his family,” Brad Keselowski wrote. “Not really sure the words to say, so I’ll share a story. I called Greg a few years ago, telling him my friend really needed a fun trip after losing a family member, could we all go ride his UTV’s together to show my friend a good time? Without missing a beat, he made all the plans & we had a great sand dunes trip, my friend was all smiles. This trip means so much more now… this is my favorite Greg story. Will miss you and your family.”
Brad Keselowski and Greg Biffle raced against each other for a number of years in NASCAR. Of course, Biffle is a Roush legend. He rose up through the ranks with Roush from Trucks, Busch, and finally the Cup Series. Biffle was perhaps the closest to ever winning a championship in all three national series.
All the best to Keselowski on his recovery. The injury doesn’t have to be detrimental to his season, but it could make things more difficult.
