Bubba Wallace took a big shot at Austin Dillon after a controversial finish to the Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway on Sunday. The 30-year-old driver spoke to NBC Sports after the race and went after Dillon for wrecking Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin to get the win.
“We just got to keep fighting and man, guess you could dump somebody and right-rear somebody and be okay. It’s funny how it works,” Wallace said. And when Wallace was asked about being in the playoffs by three points with three races remaining, Wallace replied, “In by three, got beat by the three. It was a chickenshit move.”
Wallace might not like what Dillon did to earn a much-needed victory, but it was a good night for him, finishing fourth and putting himself in a position to clinch a playoff spot. But Wallace knows that if he wants to hold on to the spot, he will have to continue to race strong for the rest of the month.
