It’s finally Sunday, which means only one thing for many racing fans – it’s time for the 2025 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Hendrick Motorsports will have a healthy representation in this year’s edition of "The Great American Race", with the likes of Alex Bowman, defending Daytona 500 champion William Byron, Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott all participating.

Elliott can’t wait to rev his engine in the kickoff race of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series, as he shared his excitement for the event with a post on Instagram.

“Daytona so far. Amped for Sunday!” Elliott’s caption read.

Elliott is looking to have a strong start to the 2025 campaign after winning just a single race in the last two seasons.

After winning five starts in 2022, Elliott went winless in 2023 and grabbed a checkered flag once in 2024, topping the field in the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at the Texas Motor Speedway. In 37 starts in 2024, Elliott had 11 top-five finishes and 19 top 10s.

As for his Daytona 500 resume, Elliott has yet to win the big race but he made history when, at 20 years old, he became the youngest ever to score a pole position in the “Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing” in 2015. This time around, though, Elliott will be starting 17th in the 67th running of the Daytona 500.
