With hindsight, you see everything in 20/20. Chris Buescher is going to look back on that Kansas runner-up finish for years. Right now, he has to refocus himself and get ready to go at Darlington. He can look back on the closest NASCAR finish ever in due time.

Having gone over that moment in his mind time and time again, Chris Buescher seems ready to move on. He qualified P3 at Darlington this afternoon. Before that session, he spoke to the media about Kansas.

Finishes like last week’s AdventHealth 400 are ones that stick with a driver for their entire career. People associate them with these types of races. Buescher has gone over it in his mind and

“I’ve watched it plenty,” Buescher explained, via Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports. “I’ve replayed it in my head no less than 100 times and that’s probably pretty conservative. Yeah, I’ve got a list of things I would do different going back. Just need to be in that situation again. Taken a lot of good things out of it, a couple of bad.

“But ultimately what I look at is, that is the most competitive mile and a half that we’ve had, ever. In my career with RFK for sure as well. That was a better weekend than we had in Michigan when we won. I take that as the highlight of how it all went down and kinda gets you through some of the bitterness of it as well.”

Chris Buescher spoke at length about the moment and how he plans to take the positive from that race and come out of it improved. He also talked about how much he learned about photo finishes and how NASCAR determines the winner in those instances.

Give it a listen.

Chris Buescher and Brad Keselowski both qualified in the first two rows for the Goodyear 400. Keselowski will start on the outside of the front row next to pole winner Tyler Reddick. Could RFK Racing be onto something?

While they have lagged behind in recent weeks, the last few races have been different. Apparently Ford, and maybe just RFK, has found out how to get a little more horsepower from their engines. Teams are doing a ton of research and development just to get a few extra horsepower. RFK appears to have found it.

Darlington was the home of the previous closest finish ever. So, will it deliver again a week after Kansas snatched the title from The Lady in Black?
