Racing for the lead in the final stage of Friday night's NASCARCraftsman Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway, Corey Heim was put into the wall by Christian Eckes. A tough end to his night.

Heim nudged Eckes to take the lead shortly after the restart. Seconds later, Eckes was in the right rear of Heim's truck and sent the leader into the wall, along with wrecking Chase Briscoe and Layne Riggs, too.

After the wreck, Heim had to take a visit to the infield care center. There, he was asked about what happened with Eckes.

"I don't think he did it on purpose or anything," Heim said on FS1 from the care center. "You know, obviously I had kind of said the lead was going to be super important to win the race. Just having track position and control. Then I kinda, they had a big mix up on who was starting the race, as far as the control truck. Then I had an issue with my transmission sticking in the gears. I had to pack a little bit of air.

"I don't think I really touched him to get him out of the way, I just sort of, he was already free, just packed some air on him and got him free. I think he was just trying to get behid me and just ship me which would have been totally fine, because I did it to him. And he just misjudged it. I've raced him for a long time, and I don't think he would ever do that on purpose. So, we're all good."

Corey Heim had a chance to win a $350,000 bonus tonight. He had won the last two races as part of the Triple Truck Challenge. That means he had accumulated $150,000. He wanted to complete the Challenge and win the $500,000 grand total.

A tough finish tonight for Heim. Eckes doesn't want to take out a competitor like that. Those two will likely talk, and like Heim said, they are all good as it is. Both as young, talented drivers who have bright futures ahead of them in the sport.
