Corey Heim wins Watkins Glen pole, full Truck Series qualifying results

For the fourth time this season, Corey Heim has won the pole award ahead of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race. He grabbed the pole at Watkins Glen, but this is one of the most stacked fields in the trucks in quite some time.

The NASCAR Truck Series has not raced at Watkins Glen since 2021. This is a new track for 25 drivers in the field today, as far as racing a truck at The Glen is concerned.

Heim will have to fend off this list of drivers if he wants to win: Connor Zilisch, Kyle Busch, Sammy Smith, Ross Chastain, Chris Beuscher, Brent Crews, and Christopher Bell. This is the lap that got the pole secured for the No. 11 team.

Corey Heim has been fantastic this season. He is having one of the most, if not the most, dominant Truck Series season of all time. However, he has had his shortcomings as well. He has a stacked field to race against today at Watkins Glen, and nothing will be easy.

Andres Perez was awesome today in practice and qualifying. He starts P4 today. Could this be his big breakthrough performance in the Truck Series? Watching Zilisch race from P14 to the front could be very exciting as he attempts Triple Duty this weekend.

Grant Enfinger, Ty Majeski, Frankie Muniz, Kaden Honeycutt, and Gian Buffomante did not make qualifying laps. However, all of the drivers entered in the race will start the race. Only 36 trucks in the field this evening.

Corey Heim has not had best luck from pole

While Corey Heim won Lime Rock Park from the pole position earlier this season, his recent races from the front haven’t gone so well. He has only won once in the last five starts from the pole and that has led to frustrations at times this year.

Between the start of the 2024 season to now, Heim has started P1 due to winning the pole or being granted the position via the metric, eight times. Lime Rock Park is the only time Heim has won one of those eight races.

I think today’s field is too talented and too good for Heim to have an easy time. He could still win this race. Whoever does win it will have a huge accolade to brag about. It is going to be one of the most difficult wins he’s ever earned.
