Dale Earnhardt Jr. is expected to be in the broadcast booth for this weekend's NASCAR Cup Series race in Mexico City. As of now though, his plans are up in the air.
Earlier this year, TNT and Amazon Prime struck a deal with Earnhardt for the 2025 NASCAR season. He's been providing on-air analysis for every Cup Series race streamed on Prime Video.
"I think that all the networks push each other to put good products out on Sunday," Earnhardt said in May, via Yahoo Sports. "Amazon will bring some really cool ideas and new ways of looking and approaching the sport that will push everybody to do better and be better. I'm grateful to be part of that team. I'm excited to see the fans reaction to it. There will be some things that look very similar and some new stuff as well that will be fun."
While fans are hoping to hear Earnhardt's voice in the broadcast booth this Sunday, he revealed he's unsure how he'll get to Mexico City.
Earnhardt's planned flight to Mexico City is currently stuck in Singapore. He shared this unfortunate news with his social media followers.
"Planned flight to Mexico City apparently is in Singapore stuck in maintenance and I will need to be seeking alternative solutions," Earnhardt wrote on X this Wednesday.
We'd have to imagine Earnhardt will find another flight to Mexico City. After all, he's got a few days to tweak his travel plans.
NASCAR is hoping to expand its fan base by allowing Mexico City to host a Cup Series race.
This Sunday's race will begin at 3 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
