NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. has never been shy about speaking what’s on his mind, even if that means slightly embarrassing himself on one of the biggest platforms in NASCAR. Recently via his podcast Dale Jr. download, the two times Xfinity Series champion detailed his distaste towards drivers using scooters during track walks.

23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick is most prominent scooter guys in NASCAR and he shares images of his him doing track walks on the scooters. Often his 23XI teammates also joins him for the ride. Dale Earnhardt Jr. seldom gets irritated by this as likes them to visit the tracks on foot. Junior admitted that saying this make him feel like and old man.

If you follow Tyler Reddick on social media, you are guaranteed to get a scooter shoe combo post every week. What's up, COTA? I'm scooting at Phoenix, you know what I mean? I don't know, they must have a scooter deal… I don't want to see them old scooters, man. I don't know. I feel like I complain too much. Nah, y'all don't get that vibe…It's just about particular things. That's the other part. I'm like, am I turning into an old man? No, because I'm like triggered by the scooter guys. Dale Earnhardt Jr. said via Dale Jr. Download.

The two times Daytona 500 winner during the discussion revealed that he has some scooters in his home, which are used by his daughters. He claimed that he never has gotten the urge to just hope on one and try it out. It seems Junior seriously wants the drivers to experience the asphalt with on foot like the good old days.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. recalls hilarious Kurt Busch on scooter moment

But not every NASCAR legend seems to be disliking the idea. 2004 NASCSAR Cup champion and the CFO of 23XI Racing Kurt Busch often joins Reddick and Bubba Wallace on the track on scooters. Recalling a moment during 2023 Nashville scooting of the 23XI guys, Junior said that day Busch had a unique scooter that seemed like a property of Austin city he rented.

I went to, you know, we're in Nashville last year, I think, even. They come on, ride by on them little scooters, and then you got Kurt Busch on his scooter. His looked like it was the property of the Austin, Texas, like he came from the city. He rode straight from the hotel. He had to rent it. He was paying for that one by the hour, but I'm fascinated by this. Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.

At the end of the day Junior’s distaste of scooters seems to stem out from the basic dislike he has towards them and seeing them way to often. He also understands that some of these feelings might be because of his age, but his willingness to be opened about should be appreciated.
