The Daytona 500 is almost here. With so many delays for the Clash, it'd be nice not to have any issues down in Florida next week. NASCAR has had a history of bad weather, but things are looking up in the extended forecast.

While the weather can be warm and wonderful in Florida this time of the year, it can also be unpredictable. The good news is that, at the moment, the only day it looks like rain is likely is on Saturday. By then, the NASCAR Cup Series will have qualified, run the Duel races, and all will be focused on Sunday's Daytona 500.

Here is the forecast for the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 15: Mostly cloudy, high of 70 degrees Fahrenheit. At night, temperatures will drop to 53 degrees, and it will be partly cloudy. There is a negligible 3% chance of rain on Sunday.

It sounds like it is going to be a great week of weather ahead of the Daytona 500. That would be a warm welcome after the difficulty NASCAR has had getting the Clash at Bowman Gray ready to go.

Of course, the Daytona 500 week starts well before the race on Sunday. Qualifying on Wednesday and the Duel races on Thursday are also going to be something fans hope go off without a hitch. Rain would really make things complicated.

It appears that it will be sunny and bright on both Wednesday and Thursday next week at Daytona. Highs of 74 and 73, respectively, and lows in the 50s, it sounds like classic Daytona weather in February. Campers are going to have a fun time enjoying the sun in the day and having nice, warm fires at night.

There is nothing like the Daytona 500. Hopefully, the weather stays clear, and we have a dry and sunny week and race day. After all of the snow and delays at Bowman Gray, it is the least NASCAR fans deserve.
