Denny Hamlin knows Carson Hocevar is going to be a big part of NASCAR's future.
Hocevar won his first career Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday and followed it up with a long, exuberant celebration that elicited a mighty roar from the tens of thousands of fans in the grandstands.
"It was a great win for him, great win for the sport," Hamlin said on Monday's episode of "Actions Detrimental." "You got some new blood in there. You've been pumping these young guys that you want to promote as the as the new face of the sport. He's going to be part of that short list that carry this sport for quite some time."
Hamlin, 45, is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in the sport right now. Ironically, Hocevar has some similar traits to the Joe Gibbs Racing veteran: he loves every aspect of the sport, he's aggressive, unapologetic and perhaps most importantly, he's fast.

Those traits allowed Hamlin to not only put together a Hall of Fame driving career, but also become one of NASCAR's biggest superstars. Hocevar could be on a similar trajectory, especially if he's able to continue putting together solid results like he's done through the first 10 races of 2026.
