Denny Hamlin without fresh air, water inside No. 11 car at Nashville

Denny Hamlin is not comfortable inside the No. 11 Toyota. Hamlin’s air hose, which attaches to the back of his helmet and circulates fresh air, has failed.

In addition, his water system is not working. That’s a bad combination, and it’s Hamlin’s reality for Stage 3 of Sunday’s Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. Hamlin is not happy with his team.

“I’ve lost my fu*king helmet hose. … Fu*king unacceptable,” Hamlin told his team.

With no air, Hamlin is finishing Stage 3 with his visor down. It can’t be a comfortable setup, but you wouldn’t know based on what Hamlin is doing. To this point, h e’s led 79 laps and spent most the race inside the top-five.

Denny Hamlin close to capping off solid run at Nashville

While it looks like Ryan Blaney‘s race to lose, Hamlin will certainly take a P3 finish if it holds. Hamlin has finished outside the top-10 in four consecutive races. He needed a run like this to stop the bleeding. Fitting it comes in his 700th NASCAR Cup Series start, just the 22nd driver to reach that mark.

Now, Hamlin will take off to be with his fiancée Jordan Fish. Fish will soon give birth to the couple’s third child and first son. Ryan Truex was the reserve driver in the event Hamlin couldn’t race at Nashville, but it never came to that.

“I can’t miss it,” Hamlin said Saturday. “I certainly got to be there for her and that’s obviously the biggest priority. Just wish she would hang on a little bit longer.”

Why Parker Kligerman replaced Connor Zilisch mid-race

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Connor Zilisch won't have the view he wants to have during the closing laps of Friday's NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway. Zilisch, who recently had surgery on a broken collarbone suffered in an Aug. 9 fall at Watkins Glen, was replaced by Parker Kligerman during Stage 1 of Friday's Wawa 250. The change was made under yellow flag conditions. Zilisch started the race from the pole after qualifying was canceled, but he quickly dropped to the back in an effort to keep his No. 88 Chevrolet clean. Since he started the race, Zilisch will receive championship points for wherever Kligerman finishes. Should Kligerman go on to win the race, however, Zilisch will not earn playoff points. Zilisch entered Friday's race with a seven-point lead over defending series champion Justin Allgaier in the regular-season standings. With only three races left in the regular season including Daytona, every point is crucial. Zilisch does plan to run the entirety of the Aug. 30 race at Portland International Raceway. The Xfinity Series regular-season finale will take place at Gateway on Sept. 6, with the playoffs beginning at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sept. 12.

Cowboys' Micah Parsons seen taking bizarre action in preseason finale

Micah Parsons showed up for the Dallas Cowboys' preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons in body only. The star pass-rusher showed no spirit and did not dress amid his hold-in for a contract extension. On Thursday, Parsons scrubbed the Cowboys from his social media feed. During Friday's game, he couldn't be bothered to be with his teammates on the sideline watching the whole game. Per a photo posted on X by The Athletic's Jon Machota, Parsons was seen lying down on a trainer's table during the contest. Parsons' actions come amid a turbulent week between his representation and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. In separate interviews, Jones told both Michael Irvin and ESPN's Stephen A. Smith that he did not plan to back down from his agreement with Parsons to work with agent David Mulugheta. During the pregame show on Friday, Jones boasted to 105.3 The Fan that defensive end is where the Cowboys have the most depth on the roster. "Frankly, our defensive ends may be the best depth, where we have the most talent of any position on the field," Jones said via Machota. "I'm excited about our depth and our numbers at pass rusher. ... I'm concerned because of having space on the roster to keep that many of our guys that have pass rushing ability." Following Friday night's game, the Cowboys' preseason is over. The situation between Jones and Parsons is not ideal for first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer, who is tasked with trimming the roster to 53 players by Tuesday. If Parsons is traded or chooses not to play in Week 1, Schottenheimer is going to have to decide to take away depth from what Jones sees as a weaker part of the team to boost a unit that is without their best player because he won't negotiate with Mulugheta.

Former Yankees Outfielder Rips Aaron Boone, Brian Cashman

The New York Yankees have been having a rough couple of months, losing their once-dominant lead of the AL East. Now, both Yankees manager Aaron Boone and general manager Brian Cashman are on the receiving end of some tough words by a former player, outfielder Clint Frazier. Boone has been criticized by a number of analysts (not to mention Yankees fans) for lineup and mid-game moves that range from head-scratching to downright bizarre, especially for a team that has been having a hard time securing wins. Cashman has repeatedly defended Boone, arguing that is knowledge of the players' capabilities is driving his decisions. To Frazier, Cashman's defense of Boone is self-serving because Cashman is the person who is responsible for Boone's tenure as manager. “When Cashman comes out and gives support to Boone, lowkey, I kind of feel like that’s self-preservation,” Frazier said on his podcast. “I know his resume is insane, but when he gives the confidence boost to Boone, I was saying ‘he’s got to, because Booney is the frontline of defense for him. I brought this guy in, and I have to support him, because he’s my guy.' Boone is Cashman’s shadow a little bit." Frazier, who played for the Pinstripes from 2017 to 2021, went on to discuss the Yankees' playoff chances, criticizing Boone for his lineup and mid-game decisions, which he claims will impact the team negatively during the post-season. “You need to make sure that you aren’t walking into it with bad decisions, because these are the decisions they’ll be doing in the playoffs,” he said. “They’re going to be way more under the microscope in the playoffs... You’ve got to make sure that you’re buttoned up and ready to go. If you start firing from the hip, it becomes a mockery of what every guy is trying to do.” While the Yankees are doing better now than they were at the time of Frazier's comments, surpassing the Boston Red Sox for second place in the AL East and securing the top spot in the AL Wild Card standings, they still aren't consistent. For New York to secure a trip to the World Series for the second year in a row, they're going to have to play better, which requires Boone to make better decisions. GAG VS SAB! Who Will Break the Internet? Jandel? SpyderSammy? OR Mr. Beast!

It is a tale as old as time. Who will win? Will it be Godzilla or King Kong? Psych! These wars are no longer about size and strength, but millions of players trying to show support for their game… and in turn, they break the internet! GAG VS SAB – Numbers Don’t Lie Back in June, Grow A Garden (GAG) broke Fortnite’s previous record of concurrent players in a single game by over 6 MILLION! I mean… how hard can it be to get 21 million gamers to play at the same time and on a game that focuses on GARDENING! However, the numbers don’t; we all want to get that Candy Blossom and use our Grandmaster Sprinkler to watch it grow. Steal A Brainrot (SAB) has not even come close to GAG, and they want to challenge them? SAB is on par with Fortnite, with around a mere 15 million concurrent players in a single game. Why Do We Care? I mean, this is just a virtual battle, right? Wrong?! This is an opportunity to set records AND help others in the process. Jandel has said that he will donate $5,ooo to #TeamWater (Mr. Beast’s charity for clean water to those in need) for every one million players GAG gets more than SAB. Not only that, but @SpyderSammy will match Jandel’s donation no matter who wins! You could be a part of breaking over 21 million concurrent players in a single game, AND help people who do not have access to clean water, OR live in an area facing water scarcity. Where Does Your Loyalty Lie? How could a garden beat brainrot? Well, well, well… I am glad you asked. Join Roblox on August 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST to watch the epic battle between GAG and SAB, and welcome in a new era. Stand with your team to see who will win! Lastly, will Mr. Beast show up to Jandel’s challenge for #TeamWater? Will the Green Beans win, or will the Brainrot Gods stand on business? Who do you think will win? GAG or SAB?
